Greece

Hello hello!

How are you in rainy Belgium? Here in Greece it is very hot, the sun is shining, we already had to shop because all our clothes were too warm to wear.

We landed on Kreta yesterday, each day we will visit another island. It has his advantages and disadvantages, every day you can see something different but you also have to pack your things over and over again. We haven’t got any time to enjoy the sun and we can’t go to the beach because we need to visit another island every day.

On our last day in Greece, we will visit Athens, we heard from people in the hotel that is it very impressive. But they also said that we need to watch out, because there are a lot of people on the streets and strikes due the financial crisis. You see that the people don’t like this situation, this really needs to stop!

The Greek government has distorted figures for years, that’s one of the reasons that there is a crisis. Of course it’s not only because of that, we may not forget that there is an international crisis as well…. Only with the help of the EU-countries and the IMF Greece can be saved.

The worst thing is that the ministers and president are driving in a big shiny car and the people who live in Greece need  to count every month to see if they have enough money to feed their children. It’s a terrible situation, I hope it will get better soon!

The little books that we read on our way to Greece, say that there is a president: Karolos Papoulias. There also is a government leader: Loukas Papadimos. In the parliament there is one chamber with 300 seats. Greece has 6 parties.

Now we want to discover Kreta, the things that we have seen so far here on this island were very beautiful.

See you next time!!
X Céline
